SMY DNA200 Out of the Box and Escribe Profiles + the secret to programmi...

As far as mods go, this one is a complex puzzle, but one worth mastering. As you can see here I am uneducated in the software, and even the way to vape most effectively with this device. I would call it a REAL challenge. It has been a long time since I had something in vaping really call me out to learn more. But to appreciate this device (or any DNA200 chip device) is to develop an appetite for it. This is a fine wine, to be sipped and to be appreciated!
What begins as just a crude beast of a regulated mod with a fat battery and large mAh (3xcells each with 1500 mAh and rated for 35C...[whatever that means] It represents to date, the most power storage for any DNA200 device. I'm sure that throne will be claimed soon, but at this moment in time this mod has more battery life than the Vaporshark and other fellows in class.
I first enjoyed cranking a Kanthal build RDA at 100 watts for some massive raw power. Next I tried tanks with my usual suspects: Crown, TFV4, some smaller RTA's like Billow2 nano. I was underwhelmed at the performance with these tanks, with the SMOK TFV4 mini performing best, most consistantly, at 70 watts. The Crown tank would vape well and then randomly decide to hit at ghastly power. I mean I hit this thing just fine for 10 minutes and then in an instant I was vaping at what must have been max power.
So I figured that it was getting confused by the SS coils, slipping into a power profile I had not set. Ok time to get fancy. I busted out an old Windows laptop I haven't used in quite a while, since I use mac, and the Escribe software won't work with Mac (yet). I was able to learn some cool things about this SDNA200 device after I downloaded the software.
First I was able to correct the Power function? battery setting. I let the device know that it's battery was in fact not 900 mAh but rather 1500 mAh. Which changed the Watt Hours from 10 to 16.5 allowing the battery to charge fully (I think).
Next I was able to upgrade firmware and let the mod know itself through Escribe. And then I programmed 2 vape setting profiles. One for Ni200 and the second for 316L SS. That didn't work for the Crown tank, and the mod still burnt my ass with a surprise blast every now and then. almost painful and I shudder to think about my poor abused coil (and lungs). I won't use the Crown tank on this mod anymore.
But I did use an RDA with a .1 ohm Rugged wire build in TC effectively! And a great vape! Rugged wire is Iron with the barest amount of Kanthal alloyed in. It's very low resistance, and akin to SS and Ti. So now I have Rugged Wire 7 wrap spaced dual coil build running in TC at 500 max temp, and the SMY DNA200 will back down power after initial ramp up to a consistant smooth and powerful vape. Thinking about my vape in terms of a graph over 5 seconds with a beginning, middle and end....that's a new concept!
I won't say I love it yet. Neither will I say I hate it. I'm intrigued, and still playing around with it. You won't learn all there is to know about the DNA200 device you own, nor Escribe software, in a day. It takes experiencing and tweaking with this new level of technology. But I'm in and the returns are worth the investment in time and knowledge.
So for now....I continue to tinker and play with it. Will keep you posted!

'Sail' ~ Blame It On My ADD
I love it! So there's a whole generation now with a great cop out. No more responsibility. No more priorities. Do whatever the fuck you want when you want with who you want and there is NO consequence because after all, you have A.D.D. WOW. That shit didn't fly when I was a kid, I would have exploited that with shameless abandon! Attention Deficit Disorder ! Yeah, that's it. I just had the old ADD kick in. And that's why I did the fucked up shit I done did when I did it.
Is it acceptable for a 44 year old man in 2015 to have ADD? I would love that. Because now I can waffle and skate, scap and scape out on everything that falls on me. I can flow like water and slither like snakeskin. Slug and slime, dodge and fake. Oh that....it was my ADD kicked in. Sorry but you will have to fucking wait for my good day to roll around.
I do love the song though. I blast it in my headphones and pretend that nothing else matters, all stress is now bliss because...I BLAME IT ON MY A. D. D.

Social Etiquette and manners in the Vaping Community Blunders and No No's Rant
Never ever ever do this: Sample every fucking juice in the place and then walk out without buying anything. It's not welfare, those testers are so you can make a choice. It's there for you to HELP you determine what juice flavors you like, so you can buy some juice for yourself to vape. The store paid for that juice. It's not a free sample bar for your enjoyment as a public service.
Also don't show up for the free food, coffee, cookies, etc. some shops are really outgoing and provide many free refreshments for their PAYING customers. And as a customer of many shops, we enjoy a little snack now and again. If you mooch up all the food and then the shop won't provide this nice service. Thanks for fucking that up for us.
Always do this: Appreciate the shop(s) you frequent for the fact that they invested their life savings so your ass could sit there. Give them a Yelp review, a Google review, an Instagram page like and repost sometimes. Like and share their facebook posts when they take the effort to tell you about cool new product they just got in, events they are having, causes like CASAA, SFATA, Juice for Troops, they are raising money for. They are not a charity to support you, they are not a non-profit organization. Also you used to spend money on cigarettes, so don't be a cheapo when it comes to your budget and vaping. It's not the vape community's responsibility to keep you vaping and off cigarettes. Don't treat the community like a welfare social support network for your cheapass. I don't mind frugal people. They vape within their means. They don't seek more than they can afford, and they save up for things they want. I'm sick some people I see trying to make the vape shop drop price so they can 'afford' something that they just merely like and want. It's shiny and nice and new....oh can you give it to me I have so many problems.
Thanks for not wiping your own vape ass for yourself.
Buy your own shit you can afford and then you won't have a problem.
Try to be mindful of this: other customers at the shop are customers OF the shop. You mess with them you mess with the shops livelihood. So try really hard not to be a douche and scare off other customers. They will go somewhere else because YOU made them uncomfortable. You just stole revenue from the store by reducing their customer base. Please don't roll your eyes and make side comments, act condescending to new vapers and/or smokers that don't know as much as your expert ass who's been vaping all of 3 months. You don't own vaping, you don't have a tollbooth on the 'coolness' of vaping and you should mind your own damn business because you don't own the shop either.
The community is bigger than just YOU and ME, and it's important for people to feel at ease within the community.

1. Mooch juice
2. Hit somebody's mod that doesn't like to have other mouths on their mouthpiece
3. Brag too much about your stuff - somebody out there has better
4. Insult other people's stuff - they are proud of their stuff, who are you to judge?
5. Use the customers of a shop for your own business agenda - Vape shop trolling
6. Steal the good reputation of others by association for purposes of excess mooching and/or exploitation. As soon as people realize your true nature of moochery you won't be kindly recieved.
7. Don't steal gear or juice from people that have a big bag of goodies. Too often mods go missing from people's bags.
Also don't mess with other people's spouses at the vape shop, they didn't go to the shop to get their freak OFF. So if you gotta get your swerve ON do it someplace else. It's not really a social club. It's more like an AA meeting. So no 13th steppin at the vape shop. Hands off the goods and merch of others.
Also don't mess with other people's money. If you are doing a buy sell or trade honor the arrangement and don't cheat the other person. Social Media drives the vaping community, you will make a name for yourself and news travels fast. So if you want to be part of the community, act with integrity.

This is Banana Vape. He pushes the envelope as a technical build guy. Please note that he states in his video and title: Not Recommended. Alan is an advanced vaping and building experienced at doing this stuff, and he is willing to take risks that most of us should not take.
I don't mind when a guy who knows exactly what he is doing demonstrates the risky side of sub ohm vaping builds. I mind it when folks build and vape without even knowing the risks of their build.
So enjoy this video, and watch how a master bends the elements of nature in this really difficult build. And don't try this at home.

TV trains the brain to be a spectator in life.
I just had an epiphany.
People just cannot picture themselves in the show.
Even when the script of life puts them on the path to success, fame, fortune, or even great relationships, lucky breaks, opportunity....something really really good.
People just have this surreal feeling that nothing good happens to them, and whatever IS happening cannot possibly be good, because it is happening to THEM.
As if to say: if it's SO good, whey is it available to ME?
I have observed this in others, I confess I have seen this in myself. Self Sabotage? Fear of Failure? I have often contemplated this issue. I thought it was a self image thing. Or a deeply implanted suggestion from childhood by unsupportive or over critical parents.
In sales I've seen people reject great deals, passing them up on the simple objection that 'it looks too good to be true'. Thinking to myself...jeez, I'll try to make you a crappy offer next time with a higher price, less value and lousier service. Why can some people not just accept a GOOD THING at face value for what it is.
Just because 9 bad things came your way are you conditioned that the 10th thing will be bad too?
apply to any scenario....relationships, deals, opportunities, jobs, friends, etc.
Now this morning a lightbulb. While I'm not in the room where the TV is, it's going on. So sometimes I'm watching the people watching the TV. And it's like THEY are the show.
Sort of like a 4th person point of view. the watcher watching the watcher watching the characters....surreal.
But a reality tv show airing made me realize that all these years of watching TV conditions the brain to see life like a TV show also. Maybe that's why people hesitate to jump on a good idea or a good opportunity or a good relationship. Their brain doesn't realize that THIS is happening. THIS is happening NOW. THIS is happening TO ME.
Here and Now. Not there and later and to somebody else.
It's almost like beginning sparring when there's all of this...wait a second, um...do over...oh, I messed that up, let me try that again....
when the mind wants to treat the moment as if it's a replay and rewind deal. Like a video.
Takes a while to reconnect the brain to reaction in the here and now, no hesitation cause this is happening.
So I feel that TV might have programmed us all to never act in the moment, replay the moment afterwards like we would a TV show, plan our reaction and response, and then maybe tomorrow or the next day...or never...to make a move.
Too bad, because:
The girl already went out with another guy, and now she's in a relationship. You snoozed and she thinks your a flake, incapable of commitment, assumes you would hesitate in bed too.
The job offer is gone, they hired somebody else.
The sale is over, they are out of stock and you missed it, now go pay retail
The deal is off the table, you didn't strike while the offer was made, the dealer or salesman or marketing promo is unsure whether you will waffle again, so you don't get the respect that a first run prospect gets.
Turn off that TV for a few days and let your brain adjust to life as it happens. Pick up that penny on the ground, smile back at that girl and don't break eye contact, just walk over smile and say hi.
Don't look at your phone for texts or Facebook messages. That stuff will still be there in 5 minutes.
Grab on to good things that come your way and believe that you deserve MORE good things. It is natural for good things to enter your life because you should have good things.
Law of attraction, yes, but also law of HERE AND NOW IN THE MOMENT.

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST. 120 watt sub ohm tank CROWN by Uwell Technology has several features that trump previous tanks. 1. Top Fill. 2. 120 Watts. 3. 4ML tank. 4. Bigger fill holes, and 4 of them, for bottom fill. 5. Gnarled surface texture for gripping to screw on and off, air flow ring, and top fill have great grippy textured finish. Flavor on this beast was excellent, yummy all the way up to 120 watts. Clouds on this tank are incredible. So the evolution of E Cigarette equipment continues with now another advancement. The Aspire Atlantis Impressed me. The Kanger Subtank WOW'ed me. The Kanger Mini Subtank seduced me. The Delta II got down and funky at 65 watts and a rebuild deck! Then the Arctic came along and trumped everybody, even bringing out the flavor in some juice that I can't duplicate dripping. But now this tank just trumped them all. I'm vaping on it all day and it still wants to just continue giving up flavor and clouds.

Don't waste your money if you're a smoker. Anyone buying this should feel outraged at the insult to your intelligence as a consumer. Such statements as: 'more flavor' and 'more satisfaction' are outright lies. Bold Flavor. Lie. 'Warning: Njoy products are not smoking cessation products and have not been tested as such'. 'Flavor made in the USA'. These packaging statements make me seriously believe this product is a big $million pun intended to fail. I cannot see somebody purchasing this product again after one use. Needless to say this will not help anybody to quit smoking.

The reality of quitting smoking is a Daunting challenge. Smokers wrestle with this problem all their lives and the majority lose that battle. I'm reminded of the commercials with the smoker puffing a cigarette through the blowhole in his throat, or the one with the weird voice box magnifier.

50 Shades of Vape
Went to the movies with my wife last night to see 50 Shades of Grey. Having read the books, and I'm no spoiler, I'll just say that the movie was Spot On! Perfect casting of Anastasia, innocence and sensuality, naiveté and personal strength. I think they also cast Christian Grey very well, matched with an intense actor, but not overpowered for the role. Nailed it.
Now if you'll forgive me for grabbing a shock title I'll get to the point, because there is one here.
If smoking cigarettes isn't both S&M, bondage and submission, I don't know what is. Unfortunately it is playing both roles in a relationship where there is pleasure and pain, abuse, and high risk carried out by oneself upon oneself. There are so many things wrong with that I don't know where to begin. Hey if it's adventurous fetish play in sex that's one thing, but playing death roulette with smoking is all the downside without even one upside. Nobody has an orgasm and everybody dies quicker as a result of the cigarette roulette game.
Most smokers cannot remember a moment in time when they decided "I'm going to be a smoker" I'm committing today to a habit that I'll keep for a lifetime, no matter what the consequences. I never had that conversation with myself. So why would a rational person of sound mind and healthy love of oneself choose to do something as harmful and self destructive, as to inhale 7,000 carcinogens with every puff? And pay for the experience? Voluntarily submit one's vital body systems to the abuse of smoking? And accept the high risks and inevitable dangers which all cause or assist in death?
I invite some real thought on the subject. Malcolm Gladwell in his book The Tipping Point, has a chapter on the psychology of smoking and nicotine addiction in social terms. Also Dr. Maxwell Maltz, in his book Psycho Cybernetics discusses breaking the addiction of smoking which holds only a short chemical/physical but a longer psychological grip on the mind.
And I arrive at my intended topic: Vaping is an obsession for me and many folks I've met since dropping cigarettes and switching to vaping. I have often wondered why I am so consumed with everything vape. It's like a furious romance. A compulsion to learn, and try, and collect, and hoard. A self discovery often frustrating as hell to figure out how to make the pieces fit. Just when I think that I've got my vaping going well something changes....the juice I loved to vape all day is now disgusting to me and OH NO I JUST BOUGHT 240ML OF IT. Or that tank that was the Bees Knees when I bought it a week ago now just tastes horrible and metallic or burnt, no matter how many coils I change or how tenderly I treat it. What a festering turd I wasted money on! On to what's next and what's new.
I found my way to dripping after about 6 weeks of trial and error....mostly error. Infuriating days of muscling through crappy unsatisfying vapes, juices that set off all the wrong signals in my taste buds while craving a cigarette, but loathing a cigarette at the same time. ...and then it was nirvana. Coil, wick, charge a battery, drip and then WOW!
Cut out the middleman of vaping I figured. why mess with all the pre made stuff when all the stock coils and tanks and battery devices in the world were simply trying to do what dripping does...and yes, I can control exactly what goes in and comes out of my vape.
But the horizon of vaping really opens up once one begins to drip and sub ohm. Now it's all about the batteries, the chargers, the wicking material, the wire, the build, Ohms Law, and oh yes, the mod and the RDA....I never thought I'd need more than one power source and one tank, if I could just ever find the 'right one for me'.
Now I have plenty of the right ones....mech mods, box mods, regulated, unregulated, RDA's, RBA's sub tanks owned, and many more that I covet.
So why now, after I've found the way to a satisfying vape in my daily goal of not smoking cigarettes, am I intoxicated by vaping gear, juice, chat and community?
I suppose it's this: years of sensory deprivation shackled to one brand, one taste, one self destructive form of masochism, I'm suddenly free and now can explore the things that I was missing...and also have honest reflections with myself about why and how I smoked, what guilt and torment I loaded on myself all those years. Punishing myself for punishing myself. Oh yes, how else would you describe a smoker's guilt while smoking?
Best line from the movie we watched last night: 'I'm 50 shades of fucked up' and so it goes that smoking is a fucked up form of self abuse, vaping is 50 shades of freedom.

Sub Ohm Vaping and builds
Getting bored with basic dual coil builds, I've been getting more creative and taking on more technical builds. Also ever since I got my unregulated series box from Smoke Stack Modz (Josh Ketterman) I build low sub ohm for mech mods and above .5 ohms for unregulated. Also I have a 260watt SMY box mod and have been experimenting with builds that will allow higher watt vaping.

Big Ugly, a 15 wrap 24 gauge wrapped around a fairly large diameter screwdriver to get lots of metal and .8 ohm build on my box mod. It's big, it's ugly, it can handle the 7+ volts that sizzle out of this box on a fresh charge.

A Master at work. Hey you don't have to be Harry Houdini to build your RDA, and with some practice you can make some very cool builds. Mods are not an appliance. They are a custom made build for your own personal use. Personalize your experience as much as you can, take ownership of your equipment and learn to build, advance your building and learning how ohms law works. Al may build some crazy stuff, but he also tells you 'this is not safe' and 'don't do this because you see me doing it'. Just because high wire performers at the circus dazzle you with their performance doesn't mean you should try that. Much practice and much risk come with the show you see. Same here in vaping. I'm sharing this video because I admire the man who builds a deck like this, isn't trying to be a celebrity, and has a true and genuine authentic love for vaping and dripping. Thank you Al T Banana vape for showing how you build.

The Quest4Vape
It's a hobby, it's an obsession, it's an addiction, it's a journey. Where did it start, why do we do it, what so fanatical? And where is this going?
For most of us vapers we smoked for years and could not quit. Then one day we picked up some type of vaporizer and took a hit and something profound occurred. The chains broke and the bars fell down. The guard station was empty, and the security doors were open. We walked tentatively out of our cell and then ran back for fear of punishment. No alarms. No flailing nightsticks. So we walked out of the cell, down the hallway, out of the cellblock and then across the yard, each step waiting for the Sirens and the rubber bullets. Bullhorns screeching "PRISONER GET BACK IN YOUR CELL"
Nicotine is an addiction. Let's not sugar coat it. Addicts are addicts. This just happens to be a legal and socially acceptable narcotic. Does it get you high and impair judgement and motor function? No. However the withdrawal from Nicotine can be extremely severe, and the compulsion to use is every bit as strong as other drugs. Kicking the habit is in every way akin to breaking the cycle of any other drug addiction.
So let's not fool ourselves. We smoked and we did it despite the long term health risks, smell, coughs, phlegm, bad breath, short endurance, lower resistance to illness, colds, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia every winter, etc. etc. etc. Commercials on TV and warning labels never made anybody quit. But at least they began the movement to view smoking as harmful and not acceptable.
Enough said for now about that.
Let's begin at the beginning of the Vaper's Journey.
We switched from smoking to vaping, and now begins the long road of discovery, delving into all things vape. 'The Way Of The Vape".
Batteries, Tanks, Coils, Juice, Wicks, Ohms, Volts, Watts. Brands, Authentics, Clones, China.
Wow.....what train did I get on?!?
Local B&M (Brick and Mortar Store) and the dynamic of price, purchase, relationship, community
Online web retailers...wait I can buy stuff for less money online? omg I've been cheated!!!
Facebook groups...Huh? I can chat with or just lurk and watch while people talk about vaping? It's not just me and my Ego futzing around with juice and coils? Hey wait a second, some of these people have bad potty mouth!!! Some of these people like to argue and be mean! Mamma help me I got my feelings hurt just for daring to join a conversation.
